On 13 November 2025, the weldinGo team had the pleasure of crossing the gates of Karlstensen Poland shipyard in Gdańsk. This productive visit was an excellent opportunity to get to know our potential partner company from the inside out and understand its unique needs.
Karlstensen – Danish Tradition in a Polish Shipyard
The Karlstensen Group is a large, family-owned shipping and shipyard company from Denmark, with roots dating back to 1917. Its operations in Poland, under the name Karlstensen Poland, were launched in July 2018. The company is a significant player in the market, specialising in the design, construction, and repair of steel vessels, including fishing, research, and service ships.
In addition to the shipyard in Gdańsk (Karstensens Shipyard Poland), the Karlstensen Group also has facilities in Denmark (Skagen) and Greenland (Nuuk Shipyard A/S).
A Meeting in the Heart of History – The Gdańsk Shipyard
A remarkable aspect of this visit was its location. Since 2023, Karlstensen Poland has been located on the premises of the historic Gdańsk Shipyard – a place of symbolic significance not only for Poland but for all of Europe. It was here that “Solidarność” (Solidarity) was born, and social transformations changed the course of history. During the tour, we saw with our own eyes the authentic, historic shipyard halls and the iconic, massive cranes that remain an integral part of Gdańsk’s panorama to this day. This combination of a rich legacy with Karlstensen’s modern production activities made a tremendous impression on us.
Towards the Future: Prospects for Cooperation
During the meetings, we had the opportunity to present in detail how the advanced weldinGo software can streamline and optimise welding processes and quality control in a demanding environment such as a shipyard.
We sincerely hope that this initial, introductory visit will be the start of a lasting and fruitful business relationship. At weldinGo, we are ready to support Karlstensen Poland in its growth by providing tools that will translate into the highest quality and efficiency for their projects.
